Description
Knowing that we would not be spending the rest of our lives in Lai Chau, we threw down our gear here on our most recent visit. We have to say, the rooms have some major drawbacks. They have high ceilings and thick concrete walls, making them very echoey and chilly in cold weather. The beds are good, there are some furnishings, and the shower bathrooms are clean enough to pass muster. But we had a good time here anyway, mostly due to the very friendly staff. They have a karaoke stage in the cafe/restaurant out front, and on a Saturday night things can get a bit lively, any foreigner will be coaxed to join in on the fun. They are good about knocking off before 10 o'clock to allow their guests to sleep, and after that it becomes a quiet place to get some rest. A mixed bag.
