Not quite cheap enough
What we say: 
Things age quickly in Vietnam and the Hoang Lan hotel is no exception. It was only built in 2007 but already looks tired. Rooms are fine — minimally furnished but light and spacious enough with average shower bathrooms — but they're fan only and for the same price you can get an air-con room at the Lan Anh II. Unless you're travelling alone in which case rooms can be had for 150,000. Staff speaks little English.
