Slightly overpriced but solid option
What we say:
One of the newer hotels in town, Congfu is getting a bit worn but rooms are clean and light and there are market views from six of their 21 rooms. They all have double or twin beds, air-con, tubs in the bath and satellite TV and many rooms feature some kind of balcony. The large restaurant downstairs serves the included breakfast then gets taken over at lunchtime by tour groups. We were quoted the same price for all rooms regardless of whether they have a view or not. We like it, but the cheaper rooms at Sao Mai Hotel are a bit smarter.

Clean and comfortable
Stayed one night after riding up in the rain from Sapa. Room was clean, bright and airy, with a balcony. Staff weren't on-your-face friendly, but were helpful. If the restaurant doesn't appear to be open, just go in and sit at a table, and a waiter/chef will appear. Good solid option minutes' walk from the famous market.

Just as advertised
We found the warm praise given the Congfu by Travelfish to be right on target. Nice room, good service, forgettable restaurant. David and Tuyet Brown, Hanoi
