Better value views than its neighbour
What we say: 
The old Cat Cat Hotel sold off its older property (this one) to another owner and started anew nextdoor with the Cat Cat View. The views aren't quite as good here as at the neighbouring Cat Cat View, but rooms are better value and staff is more welcoming. Rooms are quite traditional in style but well-decorated and comfortable enough with standard shower bathrooms and TVs. Deluxe rooms are similar but have a computer in room.

good breakfast but cold!
As the previous poster stated, the rooms here are nice and the staff is friendly. $20 will get you a big room with a fireplace, which was much needed during our stay since the hotel does not have heat (this is somewhat common in Sa Pa, I think). Breakfast was included and was really good; we had excellent noodle soup with lots of vegetables every morning. The only downsides to our stay was that the hotel wanted us to pay for extra wood to heat our room (it was really cold!), but that was eventually worked out and the shower could have used a bit more heat. The hotel is a down the road toward Cat Cat and offers very nice views on a sunny day from their patios which are terraced up a hill behind the main road: recommended.

Much improved
Travelfish´s devastating comments are no longer up to date. I found Cat Cat Hotel being a good choice and a good value for money option – especially compared to its neighbor Cat Cat View (which is making the most of its good reviews a in several travel guides and is simply overpriced). At Cat Cat you get clean and freshly renovated rooms free internet in the reception and the TV in my room had several English channels too. I paid only 10 USD – might be more during the weekend.
