Description
This new place is located along the last set of stairs between Pham Xuan Huan and Cau May. It's still new, and their pool and spa are still under construction, as well as 10 more rooms. It's under Norwegian ownership -- the proprietor is married to a Hmong, and the place is notable as being the only hotel in town that makes an effort to hire Hmong as staff. In fact, all the staff here are Hmong. So far, it's a very comfortable luxury option, with a fine restaurant in the lobby that will move to new quarters once it is built. The rooms feature hardwood floors, good shower baths, big flat-screen TVs with satellite hook-ups, balconies, and electric heating. They are all done up in clean lines, and are much what you'd expect for the price. For the time being, rooms are being offered at a discounted, 'soft-opening' rate. Luxury travellers should check this out before settling elsewhere, if they don't mind staying at a work-in-progress.

Royal View Hotel
Cau May Street, Sapa
The Royal View is just up the road from its sister hotel, the Royal Sapa. Its hillside position means that reception is actually on the fifth floor, with rooms above and below, accessible via stairs and a slightly wonky elevator. One of the newest hotels in Sapa, the Royal View has good facilities... more

Bamboo Sapa Hotel
18 Muong Hoa (Pho Cau May) Sapa
The big white Bamboo Sapa comes up short of its three-star rating. There are great views both from the rooms and the restaurant balcony, however the food is less than ordinary. We've had complaints of rooms without working air-con, though in this price range, air-con is absolutely to be expected.... more

Sapa Goldsea Hotel
58 Fansipan, Sapa
Located down the hill on the way towards Cat Cat village, this two-year-old hotel features dark hallways and worn carpets in a manner you would expect from a 15-year-old veteran. Many of the views are obstructed by bamboo trees. Some of the rooms have nice bay windows, but no balconies. The... more
