What we say:

Tucked away down Muong Hoa, about 5 minutes past Bamboo Sapa Hotel and off the main tourist strip, Green Valley is a budget option where you might even manage to get a last minute room. Rooms have no special features — twin beds, mossie nets, shower bathrooms, wardrobe — and no fans, but are spotlessly clean and hot water runs 24/7. Large communal balconies at the front overlook the valley although you'll have to take your own chair. There are TVs in the rooms but no cable — and possibly not even any Vietnamese channels — but the large reception area houses a random array of sofas and a huge plasma TV with cable so you can get your fix there if you need it. Staff is friendly and able to organise budget tours and onward travel. A decent breakfast is included.
