Description
This is a large, relatively new hotel strung up on the left on the way into town from Hanoi, with the standard, obligatory massage and sauna facilities as well as Son La's only elevator. The interior hallways are a bit grim -- someone gave it a very sloppy paint job, and there's water-damage to some of the walls. Most of the rooms themselves are okay: clean and spacious, with good bedding, firm mattresses, hard furniture, green tile floors, fridge, and pretty plain-looking shower bathrooms, but the VIP double with a balcony we saw had a bit of a problem. Actually it has two balconies, and is spacious enough to dance in, with a writing desk, a tub in the bathroom, and huge windows on three sides of the room -- windows hopelessly splattered with bird droppings --apparently, there's no way to get outside to clean it off. It was surprising to see a place this new falling apart so quickly. The staff are very friendly and helpful, but speak little English. There's a building under construction next door that is bound to get noisy once they start jack-hammering the walls.
