What we say:

The Rex is one of the most characteristic hotels in town. The old colonial building has a large atrium alongwhich the rooms are lined. The paint is faded and in some places peeling, but somehow it doesn't offend -- it only adds to the atmosphere of this old place. The rooms are good, with carpeted floors, TV, air-con and fridge. It looks like they have been recently refurbished, although the bathrooms still have some catching up to do. Downstairs is a decent size pool area, which is shared with the Royal Hotel. The sea view rooms do indeed have a view of the sea, but it's through braches and across the road -- The Rex isn't exactly on the quayside. Room price includes a buffet breakfast.
