Ngoc Dang Hotel

Excellent streetside terraces

The real attraction at the Ngoc Dang Hotel is the large garden terrace attached to each of the rooms overlooking De Tham. While the furnishings throughout the hotel are no great shakes, what swings the deal are the verandas. The first-floor room is particularly pleasing with a bright and airy atmosphere and a hint of art deco styling. The upper floors are not quite as pretty but all the balconies are excellent. The cheaper rooms are windowless off-the-street affairs and are not such good value. This place is especially good for families -- two kinds of room sleep four to five people. On the downside, the central location brings with it a serious noise problem -- be sure to pack earplugs unless you're a heavy sleeper. Facilities include complimentary WiFi and ADSL internet access, making the standards very good value.

Ngoc Dang Hotel reviews

Read 1 opinions from Travelfish readers

Good - 31st January, 2006
We had a balcony room but not the first floor. Room was spacious, clean but the furnishings are a little old (kind of an art deco feel to the place). Proper cable TV. Excellent location. Street noise is a definite problem at night - bring earplugs. The first floor balcony is apparently double glazed so might have less noise. The staff here are okay but we had a huge argument with the manager over his insistence on keeping your passport the entire stay, even if you are happy to pay in advance. No other place we stayed in Asia required this and we are very protective of our passports.
