The Trinh is set about half-way down Do Quang Dao and has immaculate, pastel-coloured rooms with spotless bathrooms, TV and a choice or air-con or fan. The fan rooms are set on the corner of the building and have cute little verandas looking out over Do Quang Dao. For the money and the reasonably quiet location, this is excellent value. Very little English is spoken, but the staff try hard with a smile. For this location, their fan-cooled rooms are a steal.

By that we mean they show up, in person, and pretend to be either be a potential guest, or somebody looking for a room for a friend or relative. Where possible the researcher will inspect at least a couple of rooms. It is not very good - 14th November, 2008
I was very disappointed.
Despite telephone calls from Australia booking and confirming the booking, when I arrived they had no room and the owner who also owns Sunrise Travel was really unhelpful. He sent me to another of his hotels for the night.
When I eventually got things sorted, I found that he was more interested in his travel business than looking after his guests.
His ruile was that windows be kept locked to avoid people coming in from the low balcony facing the street, but when the room was cleaned while I was away, the windows were left wide open.
The towel were left from the last guest and I had to ask for a dry one
The television remote control did not work.
There was no toilet paper and I had to request soap.
All he wanted to do was to push his own tours and not provide other assistance.
He speaks very good English when he wants to.
He also charges a large 4% for VISA. As well as $14US for a single room.
There no internet facilites at all.
I was less than happy as everything else Travelfish has recommended has been extremely accurate.
There are many other better and cheaper hotels ithin walking distance.

Saigon Value - 17th December, 2006
We stayed here for 4 nights in December 06 and would pretty much agree with the above. It is reasonably quiet compared with the other streets, but remember that this is Saigon and Saigon is generally very noisey day and night. The rooms are good value and clean. The staff are extremely friendly. One of the girls speaks reasonable English and the rest all make a huge effort to help out.
We liked it enough to return for one more night on our way back through Saigon.
Foot Note
We dealt with An Phu Travel - which is on the same street as this hotel - when we were here. They basically told us a succession of lies about visas, accomodation and transport, which caused us to waste a lot of our time and money. Under no circumstances would we recommend using them!
