Description
The towering 21-floor, 349-room Renaissance Riverside Hotel sits at the intersection of Ton Duc Thang St and Hai Ba Trung Boulevard with among the best views over the Saigon River in the entire city. The Renaissance's rooms are well fitted out, all with good-sized beds, executive desk, large TV, in-room internet and immaculate bathrooms, but there's little wow factor here. They're clean and well furnished but the decor is unexceptional. The rooms have splendid river views, though it's a shame none have balconies to enjoy the view from. At least the views are equally good from the hotel's 22nd floor swimming pool. While the Renaissance looks like a business hotel, it's actually one of Saigon's most popular tourist lodgings and, with its excellent position, very courteous staff and a terrific pool, it's easy to see why. Hotel Majestic
1 Dong Khoi St, District 1, Saigon
Dating back to 1925, the Majestic sits on what was once Rue Catinat (now Dong Khoi St) and Quai de Belgique Street (now Ton Duc Thang St) -- an area both historic and very well suited for holiday-makers and shoppers alike. Despite a series of renovations, and unlike the Rex, the Majestic remains a... more

Sofitel Plaza Saigon
17 Le Duan Blvd, District 1, Saigon
The Sofitel Plaza Saigon stands on the lovely tree-lined Le Duan Boulevard. As with the Caravelle and Renaissance, there's little in the way of a nod to colonial charm in this glass and brass edifice, but once you've put that aside, the Sofitel has an excellent standard of room, making it an... more
Park Hyatt Saigon
2 Lam Son Square, District 1, Saigon
Quite simply, the Park Hyatt is Saigon's best hotel. Opened in 2005, the Saigon Park Hyatt was a decade in the making and it was certainly worth the wait. Everything from the wooden plantation shutters to the silky ao dais and the subdued Vietnamese art simply ooze elegance and class. The gleaming... more
The Legend Hotel Saigon
2A-4A Ton Duc Thang St, District 1, Saigon
The Legend feels somewhat isolated, set away to the north of the Australian Embassy on Ton Duc Thang St. Attracting a primarily Japanese and North Asian clientele, the Legend really doesn't feel like Vietnam at all, and the lobby lounge doesn't hold back, welcoming guests with a grandiose enclosure... more
Duxton Hotel Saigon
63 Nguyen Hue Blvd, District 1, Saigon
The Duxton's angular edifice sits flush onto the sidewalk of Nguyen Hue Blvd, convenient for some of the best shopping in Saigon.
