What we say:
Tucked away down a quiet and narrow alley, just outside of the backpacker area, Miss Loi offers a great deal to those who are willing to break free from Pham Ngu Lao. Rooms include necessary amenities such as air-con, TV, private bathroom and WiFi. Breakfast is also included and served in the large foyers, a great place to meet your fellow backpackers. Reputation precedes this place and now it dictates a higher price than other guesthouses in the area. Still, it's often full so phone ahead to ensure a room booking.

Good eggless breakfast
Miss Loi's provided a welcomed respite after long travels. The room we stayed in was a good size, very clean and showers had good water pressure. We stayed 4 nights and were charged $13 a night, which we thought was good considering the AC and location. Miss Loi's is centrally located without being in the middle of tourist central. Miss Loi was very hospitable and although there's no WiFi there is a shared computer in the lobby with internet that guests can use. Best of all was breakfast without the ever present scrambled/fried egg. It's too bad about the previous reviewers experience, we walked in and had no problems. Perhaps this isn't a place to make reservations?

Check, recheck, doublecheck, and get 2x a fully booked
Check, recheck, doublecheck your reservations at Miss Loi in Saigon!! We made an mail reservation, reconfirmed just before flying, got written confirmation back and when we arrived: so sorry, fully booked, go to cousin. Ten days later, after a trip to the north, we phoned ( in between we had purchased a sim card) and reserved for two days later. Ok, no problem. When we arrived in the afternoon,: so sorry, only fanroom on sixth floor, no elevator, 90 steps with luggage. But, the good news: tommorrow we have air-con room lower floor. Next morning, after a sweaty night, we informed about our new room: so sorry, no check outs. We had to pay either $ 13 or 273000VND ( which is theft, the banking rate is stable on 19.500 for 3 weeks) We went to the cousin across again and luckily he had a nice air-con room with elevator, WiFi, tv, fridge for 15$ . We could not believe our luck...... So the advice is : Stay clear of Miss Lois in Saigon!

A good deal
For $14/night (AC double), this place felt like a really good deal. The staff is friendly, rooms are comfortable and clean (our room was cleaned every day), breakfast is tasty, and you can climb to the roof-top porch for a view. One warning: they kept our reservation, but we did see several people who had made reservations get turned away. Definitely recommended.

Quiet,
It is such a nice refuge from the chaotic city. The family is kind and the breakfast great. The rooms are clean (although they can be a number of floors up by stairs if that is an issue for you!)...
