Description
Miss Loi was the first guesthouse to open in this area many years ago. A sprawling foyer area works well for casual evening meetings, a game of pool, or some essential planning. The 12 air-con rooms and three fan rooms, all reasonably sized, come with cable TV, private bathroom, fridge and modest furniture -- breakfast is included in the room price. Miss Loi can organise trips to the Mekong Delta and other nearby attractions, the only such service in the area. Reputation precedes this place: it's often full so phone ahead to ensure a room booking.

For $14/night (AC double), this place felt like a really good deal. The staff is friendly, rooms are comfortable and clean (our room was cleaned every day), breakfast is tasty, and you can climb to the roof-top porch for a view. One warning: they kept our reservation, but we did see several people who had made reservations get turned away.
Definitely recommended.

It is such a nice refuge from the chaotic city. The family is kind and the breakfast great. The rooms are clean (although they can be a number of floors up by stairs if that is an issue for you!)...

178/32 Co Giang Street, District 1
Ngoc Son is a family-run guesthouse located in a tall narrow building on Co Giang Street. The eight rooms are all equipped with air-con and fan. Rooms are two to a floor, and everything seems to be slightly crammed in -- from the narrow bathrooms to the bookshelf 10 inches above the bed. A TV and... more

Kim Kim is housed in a large airy building in a sleepy corner of Co Gaing Street. It has a youth hostel atmosphere: services available to guests are limited and no breakfast is provided. Rooms are comfortable and fairly clean, although a little worn out and spartan. All have a TV, fridge and a... more
Kim Loan

The rooms here smell like mothballs, and the foam mattresses make for very soft beds. Rooms are sparsely decorated and quite small although they do have a fridge and cable TV -- a telescope may be required as the TV is minute. The furniture here could do with a makeover, especially the green drapes... more
