Slightly removed from the central backpacker area and its noise, Saigon Mini is the first of what has become a small chain of sister hotels throughout Saigon. Marketed as a business-oriented hotel, the staff is very professional and they are among the few in the city who won't overly try to sell you tour trips. Rooms are simple and clean, boasting some of the bigger bathtubs that you'll find in Pham Ngu Lao. Most of the rooms catch a good dose of this light and air — but not all, so ask to see a few if the room you're shown lucked out in the window department. Prices include a continental breakfast.

Friendly and clean

Slept for 2 nights, one in mini hotel 2 superior room, one in mini hotel 3 (in the same alley), were we got upgraded. If booking though agoda rate is actually a bit cheaper. Very clean hotel, and quiet at night because away from the main road, which is not something common in Saigon

Super friendly and comfortable

These guys hadn't received our online booking, but gave us a walk-in rate of $35US a night for 2 nights for a 'superior' room. The reception staff are unbelievably friendly - they look genuinely overjoyed at everything you say, and their English is awesome. Rate includes breakfast, and the room is really nice and spotlessly clean. Down a side alley right near the backpacker district, so quiet but a very handy location.
