Ly Loan, a family-run guesthouse down an unexpectedly quiet Pham Ngu Lao alley, is a stand-out in an area crowded with competition. Rooms here are large compared to what you typically get and are very clean with air-con, WiFi, fridge, new furniture and Western-sized bathtubs. The balconies are also quite large and good for a relaxing sit. Linens and towels are changed daily. Service here is friendly and helpful; the owner, Huah, is eager to assist with any needs or queries. Downstairs two computers are available for internet use at no extra charge. High ratings on various websites have made this a difficult spot to book during Saigon's high season, making an early booking a necessity.
