Description
Barbara's is the place to go, and most backpackers could do worse than just settle in here. You'll get an English-speaking staff, good food, meet everyone else who happens to be in town, and it's close to the beach. Also, the dorm beds are by far the cheapest sleeps in town. We sort of thought on our last visit, thought, that the 'antiquated charm' of the rooms had started to cross the line into 'just plain old.' And the staff, when Barbara isn't there, aren't very informative. There's an information book available to page through -- it's useful, but it's getting a little out of date and it somewhat oversells Qui Nhon's attractions. Still, we give it good marks since it's a great place to hang out, and the home-style western menu is one of the best, soul-satisfying bills of fare we've had in the whole country. The prices are right, too, so definitely head here for a meal.

Hai Yen
104 Hai Ba Trung, Qui Nhon
The Hai Yen is in a good central location, and has spacious doubles that were impressively cool on a hot day. We found them clean, with big TVs, nicely-tiled and well-maintained bathrooms -- very much the place to stay if you want something nice but you aren't flush enough for the truly... more

28 Nguyen Hue
28 Nguyen Hue, Qui Nhon
This place offers good access to the beach and looks a lot like a motel. There's a restaurant and such on site, and despite it's size, there are only 16 rooms available in the whole structure. We're not even sure what the rest of the place is up to. The decor of the rooms is pretty eclectic -- or... more

Huy Bao Hotel
285 Nguyen Hue, Qui Nhon
One reason to consider the Huy Bao is that it's on a section of Nguyen Hue that is full of local food stalls and easy access to internet places. The location is central, though some may find the neighbourhood a little too busy, and of course, there's the constant traffic to deal with. The building... more

Van Anh
55 Nguyen Thi Dinh
The only downside to the Van Anh is its location, about a kilometre from the beach and way at the southern edge of town -- though it's very convenient to the bus station on Tay Son. There's internet, food and cafes nearby, however, so it's not a bad place to camp out and has a lot to recommend it.... more

Likiki's Guesthouse
67 Chuong Duong, Qui Nhon
Because of the attractive exterior and the anglo-phone-friendly signage, we thought we'd give this place the once over, and we're glad we did -- so we can warn you. The rooms with attractive balconies at the front of the building are inhabited by the owners. The guest rooms are in the back -- dank... more
