Description
One of the more popular backpacker options in Mui Ne, Hong Di has a bunch of beachfront huts along with rooms in a longhouse setup back off the beach, which are excellent value for Mui Ne. Very friendly staff maintain spotless rooms -- these places really are clean. The garden setting is lush and very well-shaded and there is a small common area great for meeting others by the beach, between the beachfront huts. Highly recommended as a budget option.

Disappointed -

The bungalows here were nice and rather clean and the beach was beautiful. The staff although friendly were not the best. I had to search past the front desk into the kitchen to find them in order to check in and they tried to over charge me when we left. We were told the A/C room by the beach was $15 per and the fan room was $12 per. We took the fan room and they tried to charge us $32 for only 2 nights (checked out at 8 AM). Two great reviews, but this guesthouse did NOT live up.

I loved the quiet beach here, the great bungalows and the friendly staff. only drawback was some construction to expand the north half of their property, but even then, they were quiet and it was cool to watch them build stuff while lounging. beach had no one trying to sell you stuff. A+, but don't expect any nightlife.

Small Garden
48 Nguyen Dinh Chieu St, Mui Ne Beach
This charming little backpacker haven just down from Sunsea has bamboo and wooden hexagonal bungalows set in a coconut grove running down to a clean stretch of Mui Ne Beach. The bungalows are obviously well-loved and looked after and the staff here are particularly welcoming. Rooms are clean though... more

Keng
72 Nguyen Dinh Chieu St, Mui Ne Beach
Situated next door to Hong Di, Keng is a good backpacker haven equalling Hong Di on all counts. The rooms, with their semi-firm beds and rather unusual ceiling decor, are spotless and set up in a longhouse style. All face onto the central garden area which is well-shaded and has a common area. As... more

Ngoc Bich
52 Nguyen Dinh Chieu St, Mui Ne Beach
Ngoc Bich has a bunch of hexagonal bamboo and wooden bungalows, identical to those at Small Village, where they are of a better standard. The owner, despite his initially friendly presence, turned out to fib about a range of details such as onward transportation options and has a habit of shouting... more

Mellow Bungalows
117C Nguyen Dinh Chieu, Ham Tien, Phan Thiet
Mellow is run by amiable Englishman Paul and his wife Tien. For those who wish to escape the package tourists and aren't interested in luxury appendages, this is one of the cheapest places in Mui Ne -- an off-the-beach budget jewel. For kite surfers, this place is perfect -- it's a stones throw... more

Hai Yen
132 Nguyen Dinh Chieu St, Ham Tien, Phan Thiet
Hai Yen has basic bungalows and is truly a backpacker haven being very intimate -- in other words a good place to meet people. It's also cheap, helping lighten the load on the wallet. A selection of rates are available, and you can choose from fan and air-con, single or double -- the rooms don't... more
