Hong Di Bungalows

Excellent backpacker value

One of the more popular backpacker options in Mui Ne, Hong Di has a bunch of beachfront huts along with rooms in a longhouse setup back off the beach, which are excellent value for Mui Ne. Very friendly staff maintain spotless rooms -- these places really are clean. The garden setting is lush and very well-shaded and there is a small common area great for meeting others by the beach, between the beachfront huts. Highly recommended as a budget option.

Disappointed - 17th December, 2006
The bungalows here were nice and rather clean and the beach was beautiful. The staff although friendly were not the best. I had to search past the front desk into the kitchen to find them in order to check in and they tried to overcharge me when we left. We were told the A/C room by the beach was $15 and the fan room $12. We took the fan room and they tried to charge us $32 for 2 nights.

Decent - 9th February, 2010
First off the rooms are $25 a night with ac You might be able to get $22 if you push it. The staff has a really strange sense of humour but friendly overall. The beach is dominated by Russian kitesurfers. Sand Dunes are a must. Overall, decent retreat. REALLY cheap good food at the bungalows

Quiet, good value - 1st January, 2010
We took a bungalow with 3 beds and paid $8 for each. To the beach it's only 20 metres. It was very quiet except for the noise of the waves of the sea. Staff is friendly. There is a small restaurant in the resort where you can eat breakfast. They rent bicycles and motorbikes, you can buy bus tickets. There are also laundry facilities. We would stay there again.

Great place, great beach - 28th August, 2006
I loved the quiet beach here, the great bungalows and the friendly staff. Only drawback was some construction to expand the north half of their property, but even then, they were quiet and it was cool to watch them build stuff while lounging. Beach had no one trying to sell you stuff. A+, but don't expect any nightlife.
