• Crazy, violent owners and infested with bed bugs!

  I had the WORST experience here! After sitting on the bed for 20 minutes I noticed two bed bugs and after looking more closely at the folded sheet I saw that it was stained with little red dots (remnance of crushed bed bugs). I looked online to see if anyone else had this issue and found two other reports this year on bedbugs.net. I had only checked in two hours prior so I went to the receptionist and explained the situation. I asked that she return my passport so that I could go somewhere else. She refused, claiming there was no bed bug problem, and would not let me go without paying for the whole night. After 30 minutes of arguing one of the boys working there went up to my room with me and we saw another bed bug. At this point he apologized but when we he tried to return my passport the old man (father or grandfather?) tried to fight him! It turned into a huge scene and as I observed from afar the older woman threw a chair at me and started shaking her fists as if it was my fault! Some really nice tourists came to my rescue and we decided it was time to involve the police. When I walked back to get my suitcase the woman came at me aggressively and then stole my suitcase! Finally someone brought it outside where I was waiting and I went to the police station, where two hours later the issue was finally resolved when I caved in and paid them $15. The hotel seems nice on th outside but clearly the owners are really unstable! There are much better options down the beach (I moved to Hai Yen which was less money and had a pool).

• Hiep Hoa - paradise

  All up i think we will have been here 3 weeks, We kitesurf and love the location, the breakfasts andthe faamily that run the joint. Sankara next door can be a little noisy, but lets face it if you are watching tv and have the aircond on, you dont hear nothing. The rooms are clean and well maintained and the gardens are very nice and a peaceful location. We stayed downstairs with our own little terrace with table and chairs, very nice place and i will definately come again. watching the owner and all his cousins help with the fishing in the afteernoon made it more of a homely place. • beach not so good

  The room was fine, though $17 felt a bit much given the lack of facilities and no cleaning. There were also not enough beach chairs for all the guests, though it wasn't full, and there's a noist bar next door that played loud music til late. I stayed 2 nights and moved when building made the place noisy and chaotic, with piles of sand everywhere. I thought the beach had too much rubbish to want to swim there and anyway the kite surfing right in front made it too dangerous. I moved across the road to Paris Mui Ne which had a really nice pool where i could swim. They had great breakfasts too.

• Lovely

  We just loved it here :) Good space. hot water. Nice bed. Mosquito net. Free wifi. Nice breakfast (not includes). Lovely and helpful staff. Beautiful garden. Easy to meet new people. Close to everything. Ever in Mui Ne again this is the place. Paid 20 usd for one of the ''rooms''.

• Hiep Hoa is amazing!

  We stayed at Hiep Hoa for the 3rd time in November. It is one of the best places to stay on the whole strip. The rooms are lovely, the grounds are beautiful and everything is impeccably kept. They rake the beach twice a day! Calling the place 'ugly' is so not true and actually very unfair. You obviously haven't been there as it has been freshly painted for the last few years and the green in your photo was the color years ago. Even then, it was beautiful. If you check Tripadvisor reviews, you will read that Hiep Hoa is very popular. Why not visit again and have a fair and accurate review?

• Not Ugly At All - Very Nice

  I am staying here at the moment and glad I took the chance after seeing the review. The shade of green is fine in the light, it's clean, the rooms are VERY spacious with huge bathrooms and they bring drinks to your table o/s your room, so what more do you need ?? The beach is 5-10 metres away depending on what room you have. I would prefer to pay $18 for an air con room here and spend the rest of my money elsewhere rather than $60 a night for a nearby hotel. It's the same stretch of beach as the more expensive ones. Stay here and keep your money for daily activities and drink :)

• Updated Review - It's Quite Lovely!

  I only stayed at Hiep Hoa for one day, but I wound up having breakfast and using their beachfront for a week. (I originally planned two days in Mui Ne, and told them I would stay there one night. By the time I changed my mind, someone else had booked the room I was in.) The guesthouse appears to be freshly painted, not in lime as stated above, but more of a seafoam. Either way, it blends nicely with the beach. The rooms are very smartly decorated, with what was easily the most comfortable bed I've slept in during trip so far (2 1/2 months,) plus a table and nightstand. New bathrooms are fairly spacious and nicely done. Showers have hot water, which is good as Mui Ne cools significantly at night due to the strong winds. The staff is very friendly. They seemed to be very helpful with guests needs, although I did not need any help during my short stay. Breakfast is good and reasonably priced. MANY people walking by gave Hiep Hoa a good look as they walked by the beachfront. It is an attractive place to stay, both inside and out. Single Fan room is now $14, A/C is $15.
