Description
This is the only true luxury option in town -- a four-star outfit with a crystal-clear swimming pool, tennis courts, jet-ski rentals, as well as kayaking, tubing, and waterskiing all on their own private patch of beachfront property. The sprawling, verdant golf course across the way makes for a very pleasant atmosphere even if you don't golf. Most of the rooms are in a large, rather unimaginatively-designed building that's too far from the water to provide really good views -- you won't miss out on much if you opt for a 'golf view' over a 'seaview' room. The rooms themselves are four-star quality -- with good attention to detail, a tasteful design and spacious, generously sized external balconies -- overall just what you'd expect. What surprised us was the state of their new wing of villas. The rooms are well-designed, in dark wood with a homey atmosphere, beach showers, kitchenettes, etc., but the villa we saw was disappointing -- the wood floor was all scratched up by people dragging furniture around, and all the glass-topped furniture was dusty and smudgy -- in desperate need of some Windex. Definitely check out your villa before you agree to pay these top-end prices.
