Description
If a combination is made between price and location, then an element of 'stayability' exists here. Rooms are standard on the Nha Trang budget circuit, consisting of two big beds in most rooms, which makes the share option by far the most economical. This place is also a stones throw from the beach. Despite being small, the rooms have either been recently tiled or they are kept very clean, and some have a separate shower cubicle in the bathrooms. Beds are ok, rates vary depending on what floor the room is, topping out at 300,000 dong for a balcony. Ask for discounts, and ye shall receive.

Total rooms: 24

Dbl A/C private b'room
150,000 Dong (low season) 150,000 Dong (high season)
Uptp 300,000 dong

Ba Tu
34 G1 Nguyen Thien Thuat St, Nha Trang
Unlike the ubiquitous tall Vietnamese style buildings that most hotels are housed in, Ba Tu sits in a beautiful old house. A wooden staircase winds up through the centre leading to floors decorated in chessboard tiles, black and white throughout. Although the rooms are basic, a certain charm flows... more

Dong Phuong 1
101-103 Nguyen Thien Thuat St, Nha Trang
Another two star, and this one hands down beats Blue Ocean across the road. Much more personal and welcoming, this hotel has three sites across town. At this particular location, a new building overshadows the old building. Most rooms in the new building have some kind of view, be it town or ocean,... more

Rainbow Hotel
10A Biet Thu St, Nha Trang
Rainbow represents one of the best places to stay in Nha Trang for people in all circumstances. Tour groups frequent the hotel, as well as local holidaymakers. It's a very tall place and the rooms are well furnished. Views of the bay and the coastline are possible from the balcony views although... more

Perfume Grass
4A Biet Thu St, Nha Trang
Perfume grass is a short walk from the beach and may be a friendly place to hole up for a few days. Prices range from budget to midrange. At the budget end, fan and air-con rooms are serviceable -- after all the lifestyle in Nha Trang means little time spent in the hotel, so for a place to sleep... more

62 Tran Phu
62 Tran Phu St, Nha Trang
The room shown to us here was one the most run-down and depressing backpacker holes we've seen in Nha Trang - nay - Vietnam. Despite it's healthy location, nothing else appears to be so, from the relentless humming noise to the stench of mosquito repellent and the unbelievably rude staff.... more

Hoang Son
11 Tue Tinh St, Nha Trang
This place sits in the shadow of posh Phu Quy 2, but represents the best value in a string of budget choices along this strip. For a budget traveller looking for a seaview room, you may do a lot worse than in Hoang Son. Thankfully, it does have an elevator, as to benefit from a view you'll need to... more

Hoa Lam
14B Biet Thu St, Nha Trang
Despite having adequate furnishings such as a fridge, cable TV and hot water, there isn't much to rave about in Hoa Lam. Yes, it's nearby the sea, but all the hotels in Nha Trang can boast that. Rooms are quite dim and beds crammed in to make a room a triple when it obviously isn't big enough to be... more

Phu Quy 3
84B Tran Phu, Nha Trang
The only thing that saves Phu Quy is it's location. For backpackers, you might not get closer to staying on the beach than this -- but you still have to cross the road. Also, it's within 30 seconds of beachfront hangouts La Louisiane and The Sailing Club. However, rooms in this small sized... more

The Sun Hotel
1 Tran Quang Khai, Nha Trang
The Sun Hotel is situated in a grand old building painted in what seems to be Nha Trangs favourite colour, lime green. Seeing as the building is so old, no elevator will ferry you anywhere, although the stars incline at a generous angle. This place also has carpeting throughout. Stay three to a... more

Blue Ocean
64A Nguyen Thien Thuat St, Nha Trang
Although it looks promising when entering the lobby, rooms and the hotel in general are rather drab and lacklustre. This hotel is unbelievably long, but only a few metres wide. Some rooms had stained pillows with no cases, and bathrooms have still have the most basic of showers -- surprising for a... more

Quang Minh
1/5 Tran Quang Khai, Nha Trang
Chipped paint in the rooms isn't a good start, neither is no elevator. However, with only three floors, only the laziest could complain about that. A fan room is available for seven bucks, and all the others are no more than ten. The fact that there is no breakfast is countered by the presence of... more
