Ca Na's shining star

Pandaran Guest House

For our money, this is the shining star among the options on Ca Na Beach.

Photo of Pandaran Guest House

It's a family-run place, with rooms around a small central courtyard, done up with cement bas-reliefs and lots of powder blue paint -- we thought it was kinda cute. The homely atmosphere extends into the rooms, which are small, but well-done and quite clean. The seaside rooms delivered up cool, soothing breeze from the water, which seemed to make the air-con units a bit superfluous. There are no balconies, but the views are great here, thanks to the natural artistry of the rock formations along the beach. The attached cafe restaurant makes the most of the location, with plenty of seating in little nooks along the water -- it was our favourite spot on the beach for an afternoon coffee. To the east, the guesthouse shares beachfron with the Ca Na Hotel next door, which seems to attract the most day-visitors -- it's rockless and good for swimming. An all-around good value.
