What we say: 3 stars

This is the only place we could find that's convenient to the central market area. The parking-garage lobby didn't bode well, nor did the slightly crusty staff, but we found the interior had a kind of decrepit charm -- four stories of rooms around an atrium with metal grates between floors to prevent people from falling. And the rooms themselves were surprisingly spacious, with high ceilings, and lots of furnishings (in clashing colours, of course). The bathrooms and the level of polish are just what you'd expect in the price range. The room we saw was airy and bright, but the indirect sunlight and good ventilation kept it cool even in the middle of the day. Of course, there's a trade off in the form of easy access for mosquitoes. We found some beds had mossy nets and some didn't, so be sure you have one over you before you spend a night in misery.
