What we say: 2.5 stars

This old, government-run place is on an isolated stretch of Doc Lap, the beach road, a kilometre to the south of the Cong Doan. The VIP room we saw was getting pretty shabby, but it was spacious and well-furnished -- the balcony has an enclosed area so you could enjoy the evening free from bugs. The views look on to the ocean, but are blocked by the casuarina trees. All the rooms are well-furnished and well-equipped, but you can expect some pretty indifferent service, and a long hike to go anywhere and do anything other than swim on a section of the beach out front where there are no facilities.
