A tree house in Angkor Wat

Published by at 2:06 am under Sightseeing & activities

Dan Haneveer runs the popular travel blog Voyagner and he’s come out with a gem of a story this morning. Put off by the crowds and a misplaced Angkor pass, his enterprising tuk tuk driver led him off to what sounds like a fabulous spot to enjoy sunset — a tree house at Angkor Wat!

What these people need is a tree house.

What these people need is a tree house.

According to Dan, the tree house has 7-9 levels and is not for the height-adverse. His travel blog entry includes photos of the Angkor tree house and of the view along with a handy little map showing you just where it is.

Dan wonders if there are other tree houses around Angkor Wat — if you know of any, do let him know — and us too!

Alas, I found it today and it is closed – big do not enter sign. My moto driver knew the place and speculated upon seeing the sign that it was due to structural integrity. I went most of the way up and it was fine; he did seem abit nervous of something going wrong and having the police come after both of us.

Enter as always at your own peril.
