Song Saa amateur photo compeition
Hotel deals of the day for Cambodia -- check rates with Agoda
Have you given Cambodia your best shot? If you do, you might end up with more than you anticipated. Much, much more if the people behind Song Saa have their way. They’ve just launched a photo competition calling on travellers to submit their best photo of Cambodia. The prize: three nights at Cambodia’s newest and most exclusive resort, all inclusive. Oh, and I forget to mention, it’s on a private island.
Unbounded luxury, pristine beauty, white sandy beaches and a turquoise sea, Song Saa is the kind of place that fantasies are made of. Just you wait, a James Bond movie will be filmed here soon, that’s my prediction for 2012. A private island, over-water and jungle villas, gourmet food, transfers by speed boat, plenty of water-based activities, gorgeous and natural spa treatments, everything within reach, for every moment you’re there. With only 27 villas, there is no fear of crowds.
The competition is about creating an alternative image of Cambodia, helping to break its from its past in the minds of visitors (past, present and future) and is open to amateur photographers (i.e. someone whose main income doesn’t come from photography).
To enter the competition, which has a prize value of $6,000, submit your best shot(s) of Cambodia to Christian de Boer at christian@songsaa.com. He will post them on the competition page on Facebook (Song Saa Private Island) where the public can vote. The photo with the most votes wins the prize, and I will try, really, really try, not to be crushed by the weight of my jealousy.
You can see my photo submissions here (no giggling!). I took the last two in a village about 80 kilometres from Siem Reap. However, right now I’m discovering it’s really quite hard to throttle yourself for not getting out with your camera more. But anyway. Check out the rest of the rules online, and Good Luck! Really. Just don’t beat me. But, honestly, I wish you the best of luck. Promise you won’t beat me?
