Early bird tickets are now on sale for Bali’s Ubud Writers and Readers Festival 2011. Click here, then scroll to the bottom of the page and click on “Go buy”, which will let you download the booking form. If you want to know before you download: it’s 290AUD for a four-day pass for international attendees, 1.2 million rupiah if you hold a KITAS, and 320,000 rupiah for Indonesian citizens.
Here’s our update on the writers who have been confirmed as attending.
As in previous years, you can volunteer at the festival — it’s a great way to do it for free. In return for four lots of four-hour hour working shifts, you’ll receive a pass to the main events, opening and closing parties, and get access to a dedicated hospitality area, as well as other freebies such as a T-shirt and lunch if you’re working. The site says positions fill quickly and it’s not surprising as it’s a pretty good trade-off.
In the next few weeks we’ll have tips for you on how to get the most out of the festival, our picks for places to stay (these are our general picks for Ubud), joints to nosh at, spas to get pampered at in between (those festival chairs can be hard work) and things to do around Ubud before or after the festival.
Travelfish.org always pays its way. No exceptions.
