The Balinese are busy preparing for Galungan, the most important holiday on the island, which begins on Wednesday and lasts for 10 days. Part of the preparations involve erecting magnificent penjors, which are great, tapering arcs of bamboo decorated with coconut leaves, outside the family home. Here’s ours in Sanur:
