We've added a new feature to the Travelfish site -- Travelfish eGuides. They're similar to eFish, but contain a lot more information, including maps, background information and other detailed listings not available in eFish and in some cases not on the main Travelfish site either.

Currently we've got two available -- one for Angkor Wat and Siem Reap and the other for Vientiane, but we'll be rolling out a lot of other destinations in the immediate future.

They're not free, but we've tried to keep the cost at a reasonable level -- in most cases less than the cost of a couple of bottles of Beerlao and a plate of somtam. Don't worry, everything else on the Travelfish site remains as free as a coconut that fell into your lap.

You can see screenshots of what they look like here.

If you've got any questions about them, please feel free to ask away.

Hi Somtam

I think the eGuides look great, not quite sure how they work though! If they are still a downloadable product then I'm glad you ditched the photos - all that extra ink. Is this a stand alone item to be sold per se at guesthouses, airports ect?

What's the difference between eGuides and efish? What's the benefit in purchasing an eGuide?

From the ever querying mind and often big pain in the arse

Marian

Don't bother to answer that - the third Beerlao kicked in. Just wonder where will the eGuides be available other than online?. Do you see these as a airport/guesthouse counter item?

Regards

Marian

Hi Marian,

Ease up on those Beerlaos!

The eGuides are available only through the Travelfish site -- we've got no plans to sell them to guesthouses, airports etc, rather they're aimed at people who are using the Travelfish site but are looking for something more detailed than the normal eFish.

You were credited with complimentary copies because you helped us out with some feedback on the guide when we asked for testers a month or so back. All the people who volunteered and gave feedback received complimentary copies.

For anyone else, the eGuides are not free.

There's a few differences between them and the eFish -- they include maps and other information that is not included in the eFish and in some sections material that isn't available on the Travelfish site.

You can see a comparison chart at the bottom of the eGuides page.

Enjoy the Beerlao!
