Hope the silly season has treated you all well - we went to Kuta-Lombok and got wet - very wet.
Just wanted to let you know about a new thing we've just started on the site -- individual blogs for different locations in the region. Each of these has at least one writer assigned to it (who lives in that city) and they'll be blogging about it two or three times a week.
The idea is to give you readers a more constant stream of information about places that we cover, rather than having to wait until we send someone back to update somewhere. As you've probably noticed some parts of the site haven't been updated in quite a while, and this is one of the steps we're taking to address this. This all gives the writers the opportunity to write material that doesn't really fit into the existing site structure.
We're kicking off with four blogs, but we're aiming to have 13 up and running by the middle of the year -- so expect a lot of new material.
The launch blogs are Bali (which Sam and I are writing). PhnomPenh, Hanoi, Singapore. At the moment the first two are live, though not with too many entries so far, while the other two should be up by end of the week or early next week.
You can see the two active blogs here:
Bali: http://www.travelfish.org/blogs/bali/
PhnomPenh:http://www.travelfish.org/blogs/phnompenh/
Just to be clear, these blogs aren't intended to replace out regular updates etc, the people writing the blogs are also doing the updates (the two roles, while somewhat different, dovetail nicely).
You can access the blogs from either the links above or from the left column in the Bali and PP sections (where you'll see links to the latest stories displayed).
More to come soon!
