For a limited time, we've arranged a 5% discount on all travel insurance policies organised through World Nomads. This discount is available to all Travelfish members, other than North Americans (sorry guys and gals, but according to WorldNomads they're not permitted to offer discounts on travel insurance to North Americans).

To get the promo code, log into Travelfish and you'll see the promotional code listed in bold as the number one news item in the Member Centre.

You need just enter the code when you book your policy and there you go, you've saved a few bucks!

Kind Regards

Hi Marian,

Yes I believe so -- when you purchase a policy you specify what dates you want it for, so I assume you could by a policy now for November.

Can I warn you to please check the small print on this policy before purchasing. It is cheap for sure but they do not cover you might need. A very brief overview of my situation.... I was in Vietnam and came down with an urgent but not an emergency medical condition that I was told by the insurance company that it should not be treated in Vietnam. I flew back home (on their advice) to discover they would not pay for my ticket home because I would have been flying back home anyway one day so why should they fund the ticket. They also do not fly you back to continue your trip if you are repatriated. They refused to let me get treated in Bangkok (possible as my condition required just a very very minor surgery) so I could continue my trip. If you want the peace of mind of being covered in an emergency but do not want to pay a lot of money then this is an OK policy. If you want something more comprehensive then you will have to pay the big bucks!

Yes I've been looking into this, but it doesn't seem to be valid for people living in and traveling (only) thru Southeast-Asia and surroundings. That's a pity !

So much for World Nomads travel insurance. You are out of luck if you are over 60. Rather outrageous really. I don't know if age discrimination laws apply to insurance companies. Probably do not given the power they have but they ought to. I also think Lonely Planet and Travelfish should be more considerate of their older devotees!!
