Uploading profile photos

  • SBE

I was diddling around with my profile controls a few days ago and I *think* I uploaded a picture onto my profile page.

The wotsit thingy with the "help" question mark seems to think I did because it doesn't give me the option of uploading another one.

My question is...where did the photo go? All I see on my profile page is the usual default image.

It's not working (I think) because there is a space in the filename, I've fixed the filename (I took out the space) so see if it works now.

Nope, still not working. There's probably still a comma missing or something! Never mind, it's no big deal. :-)

hmmm wierd, I just uploaded the same image (nice pic btw) to a test profile and it worked fine. When you go to the Member Profile page, what do you see in the box to the right of the Main Image section (the last row on the page)?

I'd check myself but i can't login to see your page...

Oops sorry! Yes, I see it now.

I was in first-cup-of-coffee-in-the-day mode earlier and didn't scroll right down to the bottom of the page. For some reason I imagined the image would appear top left where there's already another picture.... not that I don't LIKE that pic! There's a lot of empty space underneath it on that side of the page BTW... hmm... maybe that could be used for something?

Anyway, I'm going to see if I can do an avatar too now. I'm so inept at IT it might take all day mind you ;-)

You don't like that pic??!! I hope you realise how long I had to ride to take that pic!

White space is beautiful -- it means space on the website that I don't have to work on... ;-)

Waiting to hear back re the dive course, assume Ayesha is busy, well, diving... will be in touch as soon as I hear back from her.

No problem re Ayesha. I won't be doing the diving course till Feb anyway I think. Visibility and weather won't be good on Ko Tao in December right after I get back from Indo and it'll be very busy there then too.

PS. Ummm...I just got a message saying an avatar pic had been correctly uploaded but I can't see that either! Never mind, I'm hopeless with this technical stuff, will try again tonight.

It's there -- remember your profile has to be set to "public" before it shows on the forum.

I've tried 3 times to upload a photo and 3 times it's come back saying I've been successful. But I still don't have one. When I go to the member profile the link where you upload them has disappeared.Have no idea what to do now-anyone know? Thanks.

Thaiman -- there was a space in the filenames -- that is why they were mucking them up. I've deleted the files you uploaded -- and if you try reuploading a couple of pics with no spaces in the filenames you should be set.

    Cheers!
