Back Button and Edit

  • Jon_Mak_Mak

Hey Somtaam, Hows it going? Travelfish looking good as ever. Altho slightly different for some reason.

Anyway, when pressing the back button on the browser after posting it adds another post. I do this on so many sites that it is habit to get back to where i just was but is there anyway you stop it doing this?

Also, whats the score with all the little things that most frorums have like edit butto and quote button etc...

    Ez,
    JMM

    Hi JMM,

I thought I'd fixed the back button problem -- leave it with me.

    The edit thing is complicated.

    It's on my list.

    It's a long list!

"The edit button was fixed but maybe i done something funny while posting."

Thats should be BACK BUTTON no EDIT BUTTON.

Ironic really, coz I could of edited that post and corrected it. lol

Ah the edit button! Yes. I believe I may have gently mentioned this once or twice too. Previous excuses for inertia include dribble about getting taken over by spambots which I didn't find very convincing seeing as we've got live links and haven't been taken over by spambots.

Will the edit button reach the top of the "to do" list before I pass away Somtam? I'm getting on a bit now you know! ;-)

OK I've sped up the redirect, which means you're going to have to be quick-draw-mcGraw to get to the Back button before you get zapped across to the page with your post on it.

That's the best I can manage right now.

Somtam is there a bug? When I looked just now it seemed you were the last poster but that there had been only four posts. I checked to see what you'd said and I was still the last poster and that there had been 5 posts.

Checked again in case it was the wine or my old computer and now you do come up as the last poster but your post is #6 and the home page says there are 5 posts.

I was testing the back button problem on this post -- I've since deleted the duplicate entries.

I still count 8 posts on this page and the home page says there are 7?

The number on the home page is the number of replies -- not total posts.

    Ah. (insert blush smiley)

Umm OK, what about the Thai wedding thread then? It says 3 replies with Bruce shown as the last poster.

There are indeed three replies but I see jon mak mak as the last poster.

That post is out of sync because a spammer posted something and then Bruce replied to the spam -- I deleted both posts.

When I delete the last post off a thread, the name listed still says the name of the poster who had their thread deleted, if you know what I mean. I'm not going to go into why it works that way, but it is intentional.
