My boyfriends and I are just finishing a 6 month tour through Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, and Laos.
We bought these 2 motorcycles in Saigon and have had the most amazing trip with them. We got such a different experience than what we would have had taking other transportation, not to mention the amount of money we saved!
All border crossings were easy and we never paid more than $5 in fees. Never once asked for Drivers License or International Drivers License.
These bikes are shockingly great for travel. Through mountains, floods, monsoon mud, and high speed highways you couldn't want anything more.

They are great on gas mileage!
Light enough to put on trains, buses, and trucks easily and cheap.
Parts for the Win are interchangeable with the Wave so parts are available all over SouthEast Asia and mechanics are dirt cheap. 4 Stroke engines so you don't have to worry about oil to fuel mixture.
Haven't had any accidents since we have had them and no major engine problems. Tires were brand new when we bought them so still have plenty of miles left on them. Sad to see them go.
We did a ton of research about this trip beforehand and If you want to travel SE Asia including Vietnam, you need to buy a bike here. It is not possible to bring a foreign bike into the country. Vietnam has a 150cc limit on bikes allowed in the country.
Each bike comes with:
-Blue Card/Registration ( Proof of Ownership )
-Vietnamese Insurance
-Helmet
-Chinese Military Saddlebags (These Rock! Big and Waterproof)
-4 Bungee Cords for Tying down other luggage
-Extra Set of Keys
-And a handful of Spare Parts that were given to use with the bikes that we haven't used
