Hello all,
New to the site and hoping you might be able to offer your expertise about flights. We will be flying from Siem Reap to Luang Prabang , and currently the best fare by far is on Lao Airlines through Pakse. I have a couple of questions on this - Is Laos Airlines reliable to take? The other choice is Bangkok Airlines for more than twice as much. And second, the time between landing and take off to Luang Prabang is only 40 minutes. Is this enough time to make the connecting flight?
Thank you for your help!
Kris

I have been looking at this flight and it appears to be a codeshare with Vietnam Airlines as the flight no's are the same and the plane is a Fokker F70 which Lao Airlines don't use but Viet Airlines do - so if this is right are you more comfortable with Vietnam Airlines?. Having said that this looked like it was a direct flight not stopping in Pakse?

Lao aviation has improved a lot in the last few years. Still not an international carrier regarding standards but the days are gone that you would see duct-tape holding the overhead compartment together.
They are fine. It's just that Bangkok Airways is expensive and not so much that Lao Aviation is terrible. Bangkok Airways just aims more at the package tourists that want t go quickly and can afford it. It's two short flights anyway.
It is most likely the same plane you're getting on to or the connecting flight is the only other plane on the runway. 40 minutes on Pakse "airport" is an eternity. You'll probably have a good laugh about your concern when you get there.

Laos Airlines fly the route via Pakse. They use MA6 or AT7 aircraft.
The F70 is direct.
You'll need to take your clothes off and assault the hostie to miss the 'connection' in Pakse.

Thanks for the info guys. Very helpful.
As a side note, do I HAVE to remove my clothes or can I just do it with what I'm wearing at the time? (Just in case I do want to miss the connection.)
