Hello, I need to reach Siem Reap in 1,5 days, in other words, I will arrive in HCMC airport on Monday night and I have to be in Siem Reap at least on Wednesday morning.
I know there are 2 basic ways to get there:
1. Direct bus from HCMC to Siem Reap.
2. HCMC-Chau Doc (bus), Chau Doc-PP (boat) and PP-Siem Reap (bus, better than boat).
I have 2 questions:
A/ Where can I find the timetables or information about the direct buses between HCMC and Siem Reap?
B/ Is it possible the second option? Where can I find information or timetables for those buses and boats?
Thank you in advance,
Ruben.

Hi,
That second option is probably not a good option for you since it takes more time and more things can go wrong and it doesn't look good for your time schedule.
I don't believe there is a direct bus between the two places. But if there is it will come down to the following which is essentially the same.
Buy a ticket for an early morning bus (5 - 6 am) to PP with a company that does also the route PP-Siem Reap. Mekong Express and Sorya are companies that do both routes for sure but there may be others.
You'll arrive in PP around lunchtime and then you hop on to the connecting bus to Siem Reap. They may even hold the connecting bus if your first bus is delayed.
Every bus company has their own terminal in different areas around PP (there is no single central bus station) so if you book the trip with two different companies you might be in for a mad dash around PP to catch the connecting bus. Better to book with 1 company.
Best to spend your night in the Pham Ngu Lao area in HCMC. Most companies have an office there and most buses depart from that area. Travel agents, hotels and guesthouses can also make the booking for you if you're too tired to buy the tickets or can't find the relevant office.
