Hi,

I am trying to find the best way to get from Siem Riep to Koh Samui. I have looked at flights and they are very expensive (around 500 USD).
Do I have to go through Bangkok, then down to Surat Thani, then ferry to the island? If so, how long from Siem Reap to Bangkok and how long from Bangkok to Surat Thani? I am just trying to get an idea of the travel times.
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
Doing it overland is far cheaper, but yes, does a take a while. We've got blow by blow accounts of each trip on Travelfish which should be a good starting point:
SiemReap to Bangkok: http://www.travelfish.org/feature/71
Bangkok to the silly islands: http://www.travelfish.org/feature/57
Hope that helps!
