Hi All,
We're going to Cambodia in February - just wondered if anyone could recommend any good (cheapish!) guest houses with air con and en-suite in both Phnom Penh and Siem Reap?
Do we need to book in advance or can we just turn up?
Cheers from a cold but sunny London!

hi Lucy,
The Okay Guesthouse in Phnom Penh is excellent. It has clean rooms and bathroom and you can ask for an AC room. I think I paid $8 or so. Service is pretty good there too, and its easy to get transportation. Its within walking distance to the Royal Palace.
I cant give any helpful info for Siem Reap because my room didnt have AC and I dont know if it was supplied in any of the room at all.

hi lucy!
we came yesterday by boat from Siem Reap. We'll really recommend the Golden Tempel Hotel. really professional guys, even when we had a problem with the tuktuk-driver they DID business with. clean rooms with nice atmosphere, free coffee, bananas and internet! $9,- with fan, cools down in the night so you don't need a aircon.
it's now high season, hotel was booked full so reservate early!
Travelfish profile here we're now staying in the royal hiness hotel in Pnom Penh (road 172). $10 a night incl. tv, aircon, bath and warm water. great room but breakfast and dinner are really bad and expensive.
enjoy your time! Good Luck!

Depending on your budget I highly recommend the Billabong in Phnom Penh and The Villa Siem Reap in SR. Both gorgeous and an absolute bargain for their price. The Billabong has a pool which is fantastic to relax in after a day visiting the sad sites of the Killing Fields and S21.
