I'm planning on going by land from BKK to Siem Reap via Poipet next Tuesday. Is it still ok to do so or should I change my plans?

Went the other way today. Totally fine. That shouldn't change.

keep an eye out on http://www.bangkokpost.com/
If it gets worse you will soon know that there will be no access to cambodia.
Its a long way from the area and the border corssings.

We did the same border crossing and had absolutly no problems just in the opposite direction.
We caught a local train from the border down into BKK (about a 6 hour journey) and it was a great experience-open windows looking out to the countryside! Fantastic!
