Is there anyone else travelling in Cambodia for the week of the New Year?? ( around April 13-15) Any recomendations of a good, safe place to celebrate the holiday and does anyone have any exciting plans?

.............Most of the Khmer and expat population of Phnom Penh will be getting out of the city, so the roads are likely to be busy. You will also find that guesthouses and hotels in popular areas will be booked and much more expensive than usual. Particularly in Sihanoukville, Mondulkiri, Kampot/Kep. Don't know so much about Siem Reap, Battambang etc but it's likely to be the same.
Phnom Penh will be quiet - not much in the way of local street food or markets. Think your best bet would be the countryside if you want the possibility of being included in some games or stopped for a 500 reil fine by some boisterous young 'uns wielding paint and water ...
