Hi people,
Just a quick one. If I arrive at Phnom Penh airport at 16.35, can I still get a bus to Siem Riep? I know the travel lasts 5-6hours, but I'd like to save time for my visit to Angkor.
Thanks

That's what I heard, 1pm, so what are these buses?

I don't know how old the info on that site is, but it certainly looks thorough. I was going off the signs I saw outside 2 or 3 different travel agencies and my own personal experience.
I've used GST, Capitol and Sorya and they all seemed to send their last buses at 1pm or so, from memory.

I sent Capitol bus a mail, they told me the last bus leaves everyday at 17.30 from the towncentre.
Knowing that my plane lands at 16.45 in Phnom Penh, do you think if I take a motocycle taxi, I'll make it?
Otherwise Time2fly do you wanna share a taxi to Siem Reap? Save time and hotel in PP. I'll be around $25 each or we can get someone else to join and divide again?
Thanks guys

Soumya: extremely unlikely that you will arrive at 16h45, clear immigration, get your checked items, and arrive in the city center in time for a 17h30 bus 3/4 of an hour later. Unless the bus leaves quite late, which is always possible.

Soumya, I also think that $50 for the trip to Siem Reap seems a little on the low end. It's been a few years but I think that if you could convince a driver to do the trip for $75 or so you would be doing well--any one else have more recent info on the cost of a cab? Another note--in my experience, drivers aren't a fan of driving at night in Cambodia, so the later it gets, the harder it might be to find a driver willing to take you to Siem Reap.
Another possible option would be to fly to Siem Reap. I did a quick search on Cambodia Angkor Air and it looks like they do have flights from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap for as low as $60, some leaving late in the afternoon or early in the morning which would still give you a full day in Siem Reap. Not sure where you are flying in from, but a lot of places that fly into Phnom Penh also fly into Siem Reap so maybe you could change that leg of the trip.

Well my flight for PP is already booked so it seems I'll have to lose 1/2 day and stay over at PP; not that I dont like the town but when you're on extremely tight schedule, few hours are precious and SR has my full attention.
Thanks for your info and advice, well appreciated.

Hi Soumya, I would recomment Night Bus for you as we ever travel in this style too while we are in cambodia. The bus leave from Phnom Penh at 6:30 PM and reach Siem Reap at 11:30 PM and no worry at the bus station in that will have the tuk tuk or moto taxi to serv you and take you to the hotel. Last time I have book at the bus ticket with La Route Angkor Travel you can contact with them : www.laroute-angkor.com or rya@laroute-angkor.com

Thanks busylizzy & CrankyCarrot.. seems we had the same question. Soumya, did you get an answer back yet? I am going to send them an email also. Shesh, maybe we are going the same day..April?
Anyway, I am curious and also going to send an email. Seems they wrote on here but not too much info.
I saw a flight as cheap as 50.00 but add fees I am sure it would triple...
