The Prince Mekong Villa is one of the nicest places I have ever been on my travellings. It is in Siem Reap near Angkhor Wat. The exact address is
415 Thaphul Village
Svay Dangkum Commune
Siem Reap, Cambodia
The website: www.princemekong.com
e-mail: info@princemekong.com
Tel: (855) 12 - 437972
Some informations about the Guesthouse:
The owner is from Switzerland and he is able to speak english, german, khmer, thai and lao. He is a great tourguide organising boattrips and homestays in the floating villages. His guesthouse is extremely cheap
Single-Room : 4 US-Dollar
Double-Room : 5 US-Dollar
The rooms are only with fan, but for the money you will get every morning breakfast for free, a free bicycle, everyday free water, your first laundry for free and beside that he has cooking facilities (kitchen and BBQ) for free and you will get a lot of good tips for travelling around in Siem Reap and Angkhor Wat.
Angkhor Wat is only about 15 minutes by bicycle away and the center of Siem Reap is about 8 minutes away by bicycle.
I think it is for sure the cheapest place to stay in Siem Reap. For sure there are Guesthouses for 3 or 4 US-Dollar, but you have to rent a bike, buy breakfast and water and pay your laundry, so it will be about 8-10 US-Dollar everyday.

I stayed there last June and totally agree with Jan.
It's a great guesthouse - really geared up for independent travellers wanting an alternate trip to the local temples and surrounds. As he says: value rooms, informative Swiss owner, free early breakfast, free bikes, free laundry and free re-fills of water. They also have self-serve draft anchor beer - although that's not free(!) and a nice little garden to drink it in. I don't think they serve food apart from breakfast but there's loads of restaurants nearby
