Phnom Penh to Siem Reap/Angkor Wat

    Hey Im going to be flying into Phnom Penh because it is much cheaper but I was wondering the best/cheapest way to get from there to Siem Reap. Either by land or air. How long would each way take?

    The bus is the cheapest way -- around $5-6 from memory and the trip takes about 4-5 hours. The road is sealed the whole way.

    You can also go by boat, but it takes longer and costs quite a bit more.

    Sorry I forgot to mention there is not train between Phnom Penh and Siem Reap.

    When I did it in 1999 I flew on the now defunct Royal Air Cambodge. That was great. The boat trip was not recommended by the folks I met who had tried it. They said it was hot, crowded, and that they were stuck below deck with engine fumes the entire time. It looks like the bus will be your best bet for fastest and cheapest route.
