Hello all,
I was just wondering WHAT THE HECK is going on in poipet? Honestly. Do bus companies not want people to buy tickets? I havent found, after months of research , a single reputable bus company to get me from Siem reap -poipet-Bangkok. Not a single one. Im doing the usual loop around Thailand, laos, vietnam and cambodia and out of ALL the border crossings this is the only problematic one. this part of SE asia is full of backpackers, Im sure there has to be something. Is it political or something? I mean they finished the highway and its all nicely paved and whatnot so I dont get it. am Iin any danger doing this alone as a female? p.s. I cannot afford to change my route.
Thanks for listening to my desperation

As I'm not going to SR, I was considering this border crossing - Chanthaburi - Pialin - Battambang - any updates? http://www.travelfish.org/board/post/cambodia/9825_battambang-to-chanthaburi-via-pialin

Good timing as I've just published a feature on this very topic comparing crossing the Thai/Cambodian border in 2005 and 2012. In summary it hasn't changed much if you're doing some kind of through service.

The best way to approach it is to do it independently, which we outline in this feature.
But in answer to your question, the reason you haven't found one is because there isn't one.
Cheers!
