I am looking at going camping with a few friends on Koh Ta Kiev (an island off of Sihanoukville. I am not sure how far exactly, but it is in day tripping distance). There is no designated area to camp in and they pretty much just give you a tent and you go and set it up on your own.
Is someone able to tell me the landmine situation on this island? I would talk to the locals but we have to book a fair time in advance.
Ahhh, I've never heard of landmines on Cambodian islands. The heavily mined area is mostly along the Thai border. If the place on Koh Ta Kiev is handing out tents willy nilly I'd guess you have nothing to worry about.
