Train from Battambang to Phnom Penh

  • Gifta

    Cheers!
We're currently planning our Cambodia trip and are not really pressed for time. Since we both are train "freaks" we were wondering whether any of the forum users have take this insanely slow train from Battambang to Phnom Penh and could give us some info.
Is it an option to get off at Pursat if you're bored out of your mind and then to take a bus from there to PP?
We would not mind taking the train all the way but you never know ;-)
    Thanks,
    Gifta

    Hi Gifta,

Yes you can jump off at Pursat (in fact it goes so slow, you could almost jump off whenever you want).

Take water, sunscreen and a lot of film!

Thanks for the reply, somtam2000. Do you have any idea where we can get info of bus schedules from Pursat to Phnom Penh online? Or is that something we'll have to take care of when we get there?

Last year at the end of September I was trying to do the same trip but the railway from PP to Battambang was closed due to floods. Please have a plan B during the rainy season.
