Hey, I did the Rana homestay with Don and Kheang in June 2007 and it was an excellent experience - a great way to find out more about rural life and interact with Khmer people. We took a bus with Phnom Penh Sorya bus company (near Sorya market), which runs hourly bus services to Kompong Cham. It takes 2-3 hours. We spent the afternoon in Kompong Cham visiting the French clocktower and crossing the bamboo bridge. The next morning, we met Don (from Rana homestay) who organised a $3USD tuk-tuk ride to his home, which is approx. 7km away from Kompong Cham. To get back to Phnom Penh, Don reserves bus seats and organises for a bus to pass by his house to pick you up. Hope this helps!
