Hi
We're going to be in cambodia this january and are planning to travel from phnom penh to phu quoc. I've had a look at the ways of getting there but am more looking for thoughts on whether it's better to go coastal or river? Options would be
to go PP to Chau Doc to Rach Gia to Phu quoc (taxi/bus/boat) Any ideas how long this would take?
If it is not doable in one day possibly overnight in Rach Gia
OR
PP to Kampot/Kep spend a night there and then do the run to Rach Gia in morning through Ha tien and on to Rach Gia.
Sooo which one is better/quicker?? Understand the need to be in Rach Gia by 130 for the boat generally.
Any thoughts is much appreciated!!!

The latter route is faster, but either way will require an overnight stay along the way. My recommendation would be to overnight at Kep and then leave early following morning for PQ.

You can also get the ferry from Hon Chong which is about 30 mins from Ha Tien. It leaves at 10am at the moment not sure if they will add another service in the afternoon. It takes about 1hr 30mins amd is run by Greenlines.
