We're travelling to VietNam and Cambodia from 10 April to 26 April.
We have been told that Cambodia " shuts Down" during the new year celbrations 14,15 & 16 and that accomodation and transport is difficult.
Can anyone shed some light on this
TIA

Accommodation isn't a problem, but transport becomes more expensive as surcharges get laid onto all the routes. Some restaurants and such may close down, but the country doesn't shut down.
Hope that helps.

I'm travelling during the New Year also.
Which would be the recommended city to stay during the NY's period?
And are the tourist places still open, such as the Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda during the New Years period?

Everything functions during ther holiday but as somtam says there is a travel surcharge, also be aware that some accomodation especially down on the beach will double their prices for the holiday. The bar girls disappear home as well, whether that is a good or bad thing depends on your point of view!
