DO NOT exchange your money on the border crossing into Cambodia. It is a scam. The exchange in HORRIBLE and you should know the exchange is 4000 Riel to the dollar, commission is a hoax, and your Thai baht works JUST FINE. In fact, if you are reading this and encounter this event, stand up for your fellow men and scream "NONSENSE you Fuck wad".

I think a better response is to smile politely and say no.
And when in Sth East Asia don't complain about paying that extra dollar for something. Just remember that the $1 is probably a full days wage for someone.

Calling a Thai a Fuck wad is maybe the stupidest thing you can do. Most times nothing will happen, but if you're unlucky and he's had a bad day you probably will get your face kicked in.
