I am traveling from Cambodia to Laos.
"Lao visa-on-arrival is not available. You MUST have a Lao visa before arriving at the border -- we'd suggest picking one up in Phnom Penh."
Where in Phnom Penh? Is there an Laos embassy? if so where?
Thanks
Kirstin

There is a Lao Embassy in Phnom Penh - on Monivong Rd from memory - 4-10 minute ride from downtown.

If you want to save yourself some trouble, there's many travel agent booths/shops along the riverside who'll do it for you (normal or express).

We just got our Lao visa in PP last week. Dropped it off in the morning picked it up at 5pm that same night. We used the "express" service as I preferred to minimize the length of time our passports were in someone else's hands.
We used "Lucky, Lucky" on Monivong Blvd as they were recommended by our hotel and had no problems. They are in the LP book.

If you go to google, and type in 'Loas embassy phnom penh', the first link is:
http://www.yellowpages-cambodia.com/community/embassies-consulates-diplomatic-missions/embassy-of-laos-347.html
It shows the address, the telephone number, and even a google-earth map with a pointer to the actual location.
Hope this will make it even easier....
Cheers

Hi, does anyone know, can a Laos visa be obtained in Siem Reap or is PP the only place in Cambodia to get one?

From the listing I'm looking at, I can only see a Laos embassy in Phnom Penh.
Remember that you can generally get at the border (or airport, if you fly in), but check the border situation where you want to enter.

I guess you could get a Laos Visa in Siem Reap through travel agencies, but with heavy surcharge... They would send the papers to PP via courier. If you travel overland to Laos chances are you will be in PP anyway, you can normally get the visa there in one day (watch out for holidays...).
Remember you get VoA on all border crossings/airports except the Cambodia-Laos crossing.
How do I cross the Cambodia to Laos border? (travelfish feature)

I am trying to visit Luang Prabang and Siem Reap from Bangkok before heading on to Burma, and it would be great if I got visas on arrival in each place, since I am travelling soon. Since I have read that you need a Lao visa ahead of time if you are coming from Cambodia, would it make sense for me to go to Laos first from Bangkok, since I can get a visa on arrival, and then go from Laos to Cambodia, where I can get a visa on arrival? I know that Siem Reap is closer to Bangkok, so it would make more sense to go there first geographically, but it seems like it is more complicated (visa wise) to go from Cambodia to Laos than it is to go from Laos to Cambodia. Is that true? Can you get a visa on arrival in Siem Reap if you are flying from Luang Prabang, or do I need to get a Cambodia visa in Vientane before I fly from Luang Prabang to Siem Reap?
Thanks,
Andrew

For my Lao visa in PP I used "Lucky, Lucky" on Monivong Blvd he and his family are very reliable, never a problem getting what you need. They are in the LP book. Eidoos77.
