Why not try Colin Cotterill's books on Laotian Dr. Siri Paiboun, which are detective novels and a joy to read! Last year I bought several at Monument Books in Phnom Penh; they should be available through the internet as well. Enjoy!

Hi All,
Does anyone know of any good books (and I don't mean travel guides as LP) around the history, culture,...of Cambodja, Laos, Vietnam or Thailand.
What I am looking for are either travel reports (genre Louis Theroux), novels,...
Thanks in advance!

I will visit Cambodia in November
This book was recommended by a friend to help me get an understanding of what this country and it's people went through during the pol pot era.
Very well written, great story, gut wrenching and so tragic.
